I slept well until 8:30 am. Had breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast consisted of fresh-squeezed orange juice, hard-boiled eggs, and pastries. All fresh and good.
Back in my room now trying to figure out the rest of the day.
That turned out to be a four-hour nap. ☺️
I decided to stick close to the hotel today and hiked to the top of the Kasbah.
From theculturetrip.com: “Perched atop a hill in the city’s oldest district is the Kasbah, a set of fortifications built in 1541. Despite its age, the Kasbah was one of the few buildings not to be levelled by the earthquake. Nowadays there are two main reasons for hiking up to it: firstly, it’s an impressive example of medieval Arabic architecture and secondly, the view it affords over the rest of the city is awesome.”
It was a good hike once I was able to find (thanks to a friendly local) the path to the top.
After the hike to the Kasbah, I stayed at the beach and watched the sunset. Walked around doing the tourist thing and was back to the hotel around 6:30 pm.
Going to try and find some lamb for dinner.
Found Café Restaurant Ibtissam about a 12-minute walk from the hotel. I had the lamb tagine and salad for starters. All very good and well-priced.
Heading back to my hotel now and will try and change rooms as mine has an ever-present mysterious water puddle in the middle of the room. No idea where it is coming from, but I’m getting tired of this unwanted roommate.
Room change. Same room one floor below.
